ARIES: English Academic Style

ARIES is designed to help you achieve competence in written style by improving your skills in punctuation and spelling. It consists of a set of self-contained units each focusing on a problem area through a mixture of explanation and interactive exercises. For those who would also like to improve their knowledge of grammar, key parts of some units are offered at two levels, one giving explanations in everyday English and the other using appropriate linguistic terminology.

The main parts of ARIES are:

basic punctuation - sentence structure and commas
the apostrophe - for indicating possession and contraction
further punctuation - less common punctuation marks
spelling - a look at some helpful spelling rules
spelling reference - listing commonly mis-spelled words and words where American and British English spellings differ.
